Epitaph

No, don't worry, this is not my epitaph. I've not gone - just going through a hard time at the moment.

But tomorrow is Remembrance Sunday and at cenotaphs all over, the Kohima Epitaph will be read:- "When You Go Home, Tell Them Of Us And Say, For Their Tomorrow, We Gave Our Today".

It was while I was looking for this on the web that I came across Werner Heisenberg's epitaph:- "I lie somewhere over here."

Genius. Sheer, bloody genius.

Remember Me?

Tired. So very, very tired.

Eight churches is too much for one jaded tranny to look after.

Sorry I haven't blogged recently. Not dressed recently (as in, for over 2 years) either.

I need some impetus. Crank starting. A kick up the backside. (I'm not looking for volunteers for the latter, by the way.)

Don't know where this is going, but thought it good to let you know I'm still here. I read all of your posts. And I don't even blink.

Bad Lads Army 2

Hang on....

"Cameron unveils national service plan for 16-year-olds".

Didn't I suggest this a short time ago?

Perhaps I have some famous readers out there.....

Trannyness

Actually, I didn't know exactly what I was going to write until I wrote that title - I'll explain later (as the good Doctor would say).

Not done much in the way of trannying (is that a real word, like what "prallock" is?) but I'm hoping to return from the closet soon. Still got a load of photos to be posted but had no real impetus to post them before - they are a little bit "unusual" (chain mail is not my usual form of dress).

Then it occurred to me. How many of us have worn extremely OTT garments - I'm not talking drag here, more a case of wearing outlandish costumes from films? Female military uniforms? Pantomime outfits (I was Snow White once)?

Just a question I thought of, before I post Joan of Arc.

By the way, with a little modification, wouldn't Ken Dodd's song, "Happiness" be a terrific tranny theme song with a minor modification...?

Trannyness, trannyness, the greatest gift that I possess
I thank the Lord I've been blessed
With more than my share of trannyness.....

Bad Lads Army

Controversial Time.

Just been watching Bad Lads Army (again) tonight. Now I know this might not be politically correct (unless the Tories get in) but would National Service be that bad a thing?

Seriously. The program puts the "candidates" (who are not quite as big a set of social misfits as those on Big Brother) through weeks of army training. Yes, some fail. Some run away. But the majority appear (television editing aside) to come out as more civilized people.

This could be my slant on the programme. I spent some time in the TA so I can appreciate what's happening. But would it be so much worse than overcrowding prisons? Releasing prisoners early? ASBO's?

Is it worth a try, along the "short, sharp shock" experiment of the 80's?

No of course not. Bad Lad's Army is the try.

Interesting to see (after 5 years or so) where the "Bad Lad's" are now.

And if they are re-offending why do we get the repeats on BBC4 showing how a 1950's style military training can "sort them out"? or;

If it works, why isn't the Government considering this as a real option?

Your thoughts?
