Mars

Superb advertising campaign.

I wish the Church had managed to persuade a major chocolate firm to come up with this, but, alas, they didn't. Instead this theme has been running to support the English football squad's bid to won the world cup.

Now that the dream is at an end, all I can do is suggest you get down to your nearest supermarket - these chocolate bars are bound to be half-price now!

ya know, I saw this first on flickr, and to make sense of it my brain went a different way. Everyone knows that aliens come from Mars. And Muldor had a poster in his office, "I want to believe"

I was wondering if they'd all just disappear because people stopped believing in them. Much like The Neverending Story...

(and much like all those flags - I've only seen two today hurrah!)

Only two? Quite a few misguided fools have yet to take them down around here if the number of cars and houses I saw today still sporting flags are a usful sample.

My wife is Brazilian, and she was quite upset about losing to the French. It's okay though because it's the fourth of July in a few days and we'll be able to blow the absolute crap out of the sky, which always seems to help one forget their troubles.

Well, the significance of the "Believe" bars totally passed me by - why can't we have more decent sports like cycle racing classics Milan-Sanremo, Paris-Roubaix, Liège-Bastogne-Liège. Much more exciting.

Apparently their business collapsed in Scotland (where they didn't want to believe!)

And, of course, there's always the problem of receiving the proof that your belief was misplaced (as happened finally vs Portugal)! You feel pretty let down then. Not a risk the Church would want to take?!!
